A sleepless night in Hokkaido’s Yubari

Though a bit scary, a walk through Yubari at nighttime leads you to interesting, seemingly deserted places. Though Yubari is by no means a ghost town, from six or seven at night, almost everyone seems to be inside. I saw more deers outside than people around in the evening. Luckily, no bears, though there were warning signs everywhere. That made me a bit hesitant to wander too much off the main road. The loud cracking noises and whispers that came from the bushes only added to those, probably unsubstantiated fears.
